Turkish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics was established under the name of Ankara Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 1959, to strengthen communication between its members, share professional accumulated knowledge and experience to act as a guide to newly qualified members and improve life quality of the mother and the baby’s.
Our society was founded by Dr. Necdet Erenus, Dr. Halik Çıray, Dr. Türkan Akbaşa, Dr. Sami İnal, Dr. Ali Dedekargınoğlu, Dr. Cazip Sümer and Dr. Nedret Gökok. It became Turkish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 2004 with the joining of Istanbul and Izmir Gynecology and Obstetrics Society.
Turkish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics has 39 branches (ADANA - ADAPAZARI - AFYON - ANKARA - ANTALYA - AYDIN - BURSA - ÇANAKKALE - DENİZLİ - DÜZCE - ELAZIĞ - ERZURUM - ESKİŞEHİR - GAZİANTEP - GİRESUN - HATAY - İSTANBUL - İZMİR - K.MARAŞ - KASTAMONU - KAYSERİ - KIRKLARELİ - KOCAELİ - KONYA - KÜTAHYA - MALATYA - MANİSA - MARDİN - MERSİN - MUĞLA - SAMSUN - SİVAS - Ş.URFA - TOKAT - TRABZON - UŞAK - VAN - ZONGULDAK) throughout Turkey.
Turkish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics organize conferences, meetings and seminars to inform colleagues, the public and families about the latest development in women reproduction health, research and new findings. Our Society aims to provide solutions to solving occupational problems, improve employee rights, and deliver continuous professional training throughout the country. It offers five Post Specialist Scholarships to its members each year to support professional development under the presidency of Prof. Dr. İsmail Mete İtil.
