Prof. Dr. Cansun Demir was born in Kozan on April 25, 1964. He studied in Kozan Elementary School. He completed his high school studies in Istanbul Kadıköy Anatolian High School in 1982.
He studied medicine at Istanbul University; Istanbul Faculty of Medicine followed by an internship in the UK and Poland. He graduated top of his class with distinction. He completed his compulsory service in Aydın E-type Prison, Nazilli Aydın in 1988. He began working as a research assistant in the Faculty of Medicine, Çukurova University, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and qualified to work as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1994. Following his compulsory service, he began working at Çukurova University, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1997. He became a Professor in 2007. He has 34 published articles in international journals and 125 published articles in national journals. He wrote 22 chapters and a book. He was a guest speaker and chairperson in national and international scientific congresses. He speaks English and German. He served as a member in the Board of Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, Board of Management and Ethics Commission, Ethics Committee and an education coordinator.
He was the Head of the Midwifery School of Adana Vocational Health School. He is currently serving as a member of PERITAM (Pre-natal Diagnosis and Research Centre), a Treasurer and a board member of the Turkish Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society. He is a member of Adana Chamber of Physicians, European Society of Contraception, Maternal and Fetal Medicine and Perinatology Society, EMAS (European Menopause Association) and Adana TepebaÄŸ Rotary Club.
